How to prepare
A2 listening mixes radio announcements, a matching conversation, short everyday dialogues, and a yes/no interview. Plays are once or twice depending on the task. The table on this page is the list to trust.
Read every option before the audio starts. If two options share a noun, the difference is the verb or the time. Listen for that difference.
A worked example
Der Kurs fällt heute aus. Der nächste Termin ist am Donnerstag.
“The course is today” is false. “The next date is Thursday” is true. Both sentences use the same noun.
Yes/no items often repeat a word from the audio and change the fact. The repeated word is not evidence.
What usually drops the point
- Ticking an option because you heard its noun, even though the speaker rejected it.
- Leaving the matching task blank until the end and then forgetting the order.
- Asking for a replay. The app will not give you one, and the exam will not either.
How to use the mock
On a once-only text, write the answer in pencil on the first hearing and do not hunt for a second. On a twice-played text, the first hearing is for the items you find easy and the second is for the dot you left.
- Listen to a course dialogue and write true or false for three sentences you wrote yourself.
- Note only times and days from one announcement.
- Run the A2 listening mock and circle every item that played once.

How to spend the time
Before the audio, sort the tasks on this page into once and twice. The table says which. Once-only tasks get an answer while the sentence is still in your ear. Twice-played tasks get a sure answer on the first play and a dot where you are not sure. The second play is for dots, not for a new theory about an item you already answered.
Yes/no items often repeat a noun from the audio and change the fact. Hearing the noun is not evidence. Listen for the verb and the negative: fällt aus, nicht heute, der nächste Termin. In a matching conversation, write the initial of the speaker next to the option as soon as you hear it. Waiting until the end and reconstructing the order is how the middle items disappear.
Practise with the course audio by writing three statements yourself before you play: one true to the title, one that copies a noun and lies, one about a time. Then listen and mark them. You are training the lie that repeats a word, which is the A2 item.
