Reading is 80 minutes.

What score do you need to pass?
Each module is marked out of 100 and passes at 60. In this app you are marked ready when every module is at least 70.
How to prepare
You complete a gap text, read an essay, match sections to statements, and separate opinions. The essay’s tone can be ironic or hedged. Take the hedge seriously.
A statement that says “the author demands” needs a demand, not a worry. A statement that says “the author doubts” can be true even when the paragraph is polite.
A worked example
Ob das Modell trägt, ist damit noch nicht gezeigt.
The author has not endorsed the model. An option “the author recommends the model” is too strong.
noch nicht gezeigt is a limit. Recommendations use a different verb.
What usually drops the point
- Filling gaps from collocation memory and ignoring the case of the following noun.
- Missing irony and answering the literal first clause.
- Spending the matching task in the order of the statements rather than the order of the text.
How to use the mock
Read the essay once for the claim and once for the limits. On gaps, say the sentence aloud with the option in it. If you stumble on the article or the case, it is wrong even if the meaning is close.
- Mark every hedge in a course text: kaum, wohl, noch nicht, keineswegs.
- Write one over-strong statement about that text and correct it.
- Do the C2 reading mock and classify misses as “too strong” or “grammar”.
