FAQ
How long is Speaking?
Speaking is 15 minutes.
What are the tasks in Speaking?
1. presentation; 2. discussion
What score do you need to pass?
Each module is marked out of 100 and passes at 60. In this app you are marked ready when every module is at least 70.
How to prepare
You give a short presentation and then discuss. Preparation is before the speaking clock. Choose a structure you can remember without reading: situation, two sides, your view, one example.
In the discussion, react to the last thing the partner said before you add your point. Otherwise you are giving a second presentation.
A worked example
Dazu ein Beispiel aus meinem Betrieb: seit dem neuen Plan kommen weniger Leute zu spät, aber die Frühschicht ist unruhiger.
An example names a place and a result, and it does not pretend to be a national statistic.
Invented percentages are easy for an examiner to question, and you then spend the follow-up defending a fiction. A concrete case is enough.
What usually drops the point
- Reading a written script until the examiner stops you.
- Listing vocabulary (nachhaltig, effizient, flexibel) without a clause.
- Agreeing in the discussion and then going silent.
How to use the mock
Practise the presentation once with notes and once without, same topic. Record both. In the discussion, keep two reactions ready: Das sehe ich anders, weil … and Das stimmt, allerdings …
- Present “working from home” for four minutes with one example and no notes.
- Answer two hostile but polite questions on that talk.
- Discuss a course prompt for five minutes. Each turn must refer to the previous one.
